DIBELS Score Manager is designed to help classroom teachers reap the greatest benefits of their DIBELS data as they decide how to proceed with instruction for their students. Using an Excel workbook that manages students’ benchmark testing and progress monitoring scores, it helps teachers track their students’ progress toward achieving the benchmark targets for their grade.
DIBELS Score Manager may be useful for teachers who are using DIBELS assessments but do not have access to commercial services that manage test data and provide reports. Others, who may have access to a commercial service, may prefer the DIBELS Score Manager because of the convenience of having test results available on their classroom computers. Anyone may download this tool at any time, free of charge, and use it to manage DIBELS scores for the students in their classroom.
What this tool isn’t…
- Comprehensive RTI management software: It can help teachers implement RTI, but is, by design, limited to processing DIBELS scores for one classroom at a time.
- A training tool for learning how to administer the DIBELS measures: It is intended to be used by classroom teachers who are proficient in administering the DIBELS assessments.
After administering the prompts and scoring them, download the applicable grade level Excel file. Read the instructions and, in the Setup tab, input the current school year and teacher name. Next, in the Data Entry tab, input student names and scores. DIBELS Score Manager will indicate which students are at Benchmark, Strategic and Intensive levels and provide the progress monitoring graphs that teachers plot by hand on the front of the student answer booklets. All the information is automatically updated when new scores are entered giving the teacher instant access to test results.
